“The Forest” was the magical, timeless forest that bound together all woodland areas in the Prime Universe, home to entities like faeries and the Big Bad Wolf. Its inhabitants were known collectively as “the People of the Forest”.
Nature
The “People of the Forest” believed that the Forest was a memory of the primordial forest that had covered the entire Earth before “the Giants dug the sea to divide the continents, and the smallfolk cut down the trees and built themselves houses”. Although the accuracy of this myth was contested, not only by human science but also by the magical inhabitants of the oceans, it was the foundation of the magic that led anyone who lost themselves into an old forest into the Forest. As the Forest was timeless, should one manage to exit the Forest, they could find themselves not only in another part of the world than where they'd entered, but even in another time period. History
The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids disbanded their Department of Forestry because they feared that if they were allowed to grow a forest on the Mainland Cloud, it might connect to the Forest, and thus create an unsupervised gateway between the Cupid Homeworld and the parent-universe.
In December 2021, after being stranded in the middle of a Finnish forest in the Prime Universe, Pythagoras-858 and Juliet-178 purposefully got themselves lost further in, so as to make their way into the Forest. There, they encountered the cantankerous Troll Tero Trollgarsson, inadvertently taking him along when they then warped out of the Prime Universe altogether and to the Interdimensional Tavern.
