Glenda Sif, most often referred to as simply Glenda, was the girlfriend of the version of Dynamite Thor who hailed from the Fox universe, but settled in the 925th Universe.

Description

Physical appearance

Glenda appeared as “a blonde woman wearing a dress”. (PROSE: Lovie Dovie Stuff)

Biography

Early life

Like him, she originated in the Foxverse, where she was the heir to the sizable “Sif family fortune”. For some time, she dated another superhero, Grant Farrel alias Thor, during which time she developed a taste for the routine of being kidnapped by supervillains and then heroically rescued. Though generally a worldly woman, she did not seem aware that her predilection for being tied up in a romance-adjacent context might be construed as sexual when Jenny Over-There later brought it up. At any rate, by roughly “five years” before Valentine's Day 2023, she had broken up with Grant, and started dating the coincidentally-named Peter Thor, who had his own superhero identity as Dynamite Thor. (PROSE: Lovie Dovie Stuff)

Moving to the 925th Universe

Shortly before Christmas 2022, Dynamite Thor, who had permanently settled in the 925th Universe after getting a job at the Multidimensional Finders Service, help Glenda make arrangements to formally move to this universe as well. (PROSE: Lovie Dovie Stuff)

For Christmas 2022, he got her a Dibbsy Toaster from the Dibbsy Store, going to considerable trouble in the process. After obtaining it, he checked her current address again thanks to Jenny Over-There, (PROSE: A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas) with Jenny informing him that she was, for now, still in her home in Texas in her original reality. (PROSE: A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas (2024 reedit))

In all this time, Peter Thor had failed to tell Glenda that he was the superhero Dynamite Thor. She figured this out easily, especially as he kept walking out on her with paper-thin explanations whenever he heard about something that might be construed as a crime or crisis, despite obviously feeling bad about it; however, Thor was particularly dense about understanding that she knew, and asking him point-blank only resulted in harried denials. Only after a confrontation with an allegedly mysterious supervillain calling herself “the Lovebomber” on Valentine's Day 2023 did he confess his secret identity. (PROSE: Lovie Dovie Stuff) He subsequently considered showing her his Secret Headquarters. (PROSE: Set Up to Blow Up)

Now officially in on things, she later accompanied Thor on his way to Knighton where he intended to take advantage of his (self-granted) day off to resume his superhero patrols. Though mildly concerned about his idea of how fighting crime worked, she left him to it. (PROSE: Annals of the Jen: One Year of Jenny Over-There: Peter Thor's Day Off)

Behind the scenes

Dynamite Thor's girlfriend Glenda originated in the same comics as Dynamite Thor himself, and is also a public domain character. Also in the public domain is the identical “Glenda” who was used as the love interest of Grant Farrel/Thor in his short run of comics, also created by Wright Lincoln; though this was evidently more of a case of creative recycling than a suggestion of a shared universe with Glenda having dated two unrelated men named Thor, the character's appearances in Jenny Over-There: The Nine-Two-Five Universe literalised the view that they were one and the same. The last name “Sif” was Callum Phillpott's own addition, referencing Sif, the mythological wife of the god Thor.
