Pan was a Greek pastoral god. He appeared as a short, sly-looking man with a goat's legs and small horns on his head, and often played the bagpipes. He was also a god of sexuality and fertility.

Although his cult was much depleted, Pan still existed in modern times in one universe, and he still haunted the forests around a set of ruins that had once been one of his temples. He encountered a vacationing Jenny Everywhere, who was attempting to seduce another tourist, Drew. He agreed to help her, hoping that “some genuine sexual energy” would revitalise his “non-corporeal complexion”. He thus placed a temporary spell on Jenny intended to transform her into a form that would be guaranteed to attract Drew.

As Drew turned out to be gay, this was a muscular, male body. Jenny — or, rather, Jerry — was initially put out by this but still attempted to reinitiate his flirtation with Drew. This again proved useless when Drew explained that he was uninterested in physical flings altogether and would only be interested in sleeping with a long-term partner. When an apologetic Pan offered to make it up to Jenny (now back to normal), she took him at his word and proposed to spend the night with him, instead. (COMIC: Holiday Pandemonium)
