Situation on Earth-N (part 1)
The chapter begins with Jenny Anywhere landing in the middle of the Naked Jungle after popping out of her dimension portal. As she turns around, she finds who she is looking for, its nudist protectors Kaza and Gwenna. She tells the couple that she needs their help in an alternate universe quite similar to theirs and Gwenna's counterpart over there is a district attorney. Anywhere then tells the nudist couple that to put an end to supervillains harming her, their aid will play an important role.
Arriving in NU York, which is that universe's equivalent to New York, Gwenna is puzzled that Anywhere doesn't give the both of them time to get dressed before reaching their destination. The latter tells the nudist couple to look at the streets as she opens her duster. They notice that the civilians are walking around in their birthday suits. Anywhere explains to them that in this universe, nudism is considered the norm and NU in NU York stands for Naturist Universe so they'll blend in by going buck-naked.
Suddenly Crimson Wonder, one of the local superheroines, makes her appearance and says she's glad that Anywhere is back. The latter then introduces the nudist couple to the superheroine. Crimson later shows her gratitude to Kaza and Gwenna by thanking them which the jungle girl responds by saying what Anywhere has mentioned to her husband and her. The caped nudist then replies that the plan is for the lady of the naked jungle to stand in for her counterpart in Earth-N while the rest of them figure something out. Crimson instructs the nudist couple to follow Anywhere and her to the ground floor by using the elevator where the rest of the team will explain the details when Gwenna starts getting confused.
In the elevator, Crimson reveals that Earth-N's Gwenna is investigating this company who is buying all the businesses that are involved in making clothes which is odd in a universe such as hers. Kaza and Anywhere then agree with her that this is extremely strange. Anywhere then says that's why they want Gwenna to lure out the mastermind behind this under the guise of her Earth-N's counterpart. The lady of the naked jungle asks what's the plan for this but Anywhere just says that they really don't have any and want her opinion about it. Suddenly the caped nudist gets an incoming call from detective Blake who tells her that while escorting Earth-N's Gwenna, they suddenly get ambushed by Johnny Die and his robots. She continues by saying that Mother Naturist is dealing with them but she needs backup.
The scene cuts to Mother Naturist fighting with a robot with her elemental blasts to buy time for Earth-N's Gwenna to escape. She is suddenly knocked out cold by an aerial robot as her charge watches helplessly. Johnny Die threatens the counterpart to the lady of the naked jungle to follow him as he knows that he has the upper hand. Blake then fires her gun at him after hearing his threats but the supervillain manages to dodge her bullets and orders a giant robot of his to subdue her. Fortunately for the detective, Miss Giantess intervenes before the robot can grab her. She then gets into a tussle with the robot as Earth-N's Gwenna can only watch.
Johnny then orders two of his aerial robots to capture Earth-N's Gwenna who starts fleeing as lasers fire at her. They chase her until she is trapped in an alleyway but luckily for her, Kaza saves her in the nick of time by destroying the robots. She is shocked to see him naked as she doesn't know that he isn't the Kaza from her universe. Anywhere then appears to convince her that he isn't as she becomes more confused. The naked shifter later introduces her to her counterpart from the naked jungle and says that she's the solution to her problem. The lady of the naked jungle starts explaining the plan to her Earth-N counterpart as the latter looks in awe to how identical the both of them look with a few differences.
At this moment, Crimson informs Anywhere that things are getting worse as two more nudist supervillains named Edizon and Quiet Mary just showed up.
Earth-N's Gwenna who is now in her undies and keeping her specs on wants to ask her counterpart from the Naked Jungle many questions but the latter tells her to do so later as she finishes buttoning the top of her disguise. She then tells her Earth-N counterpart that Anywhere will bring her and her husband to her universe where she'll be safe until the disaster is over.
Kaza grows concern about leaving his wife alone in Earth-N where it's currently dangerous but the latter assures him that she'll be fine. After the short conversation with her husband, Anywhere gives Gwenna her radio watch which allows her to keep in touch with her allies in Earth-N. Kaza assures his wife's Earth-N counterpart that dimension travelling is safe when she has doubts about it and the lady of the Naked Jungle tells Anywhere that she's not prepared but they can't afford to wait anymore. Anywhere suggests to Gwenna to find Blake and promises to return as soon as possible after sending her husband along with her Earth-N counterpart to her universe before opening the dimension portal to the Naked Jungle.
Once inside the dimension zone, Anywhere can't explain why but tells Kaza and Earth-N's Gwenna that they need to take an alternate route as there's an obstacle. They then come out of a dimension portal and fall into a body of water. Kaza notices that they're not in his home at all and Anywhere explains that she intends to bring them to Shelterville but a yellow path proves that the three of them are in the Land of Oz.
Crisis Down the Yellow Brick Road
As the three of them are walking on the yellow path, Anywhere is puzzled that Earth-N's Gwenna doesn't know the story of The Wizard of Oz. They soon reach a town known which Anywhere recognizes it as Shelterville. An anthropomorphic gay couple named Gabrial Fox and Jamie Price introduce themselves to the trio who are shocked to see them and they are told that people from different universes are brought to Shelterville for unknown reasons. Once inside Shelterville, Kaza questions whether is it safe to enter any of its buildings but Anywhere assures him that it is and mentions that there are more bizarre character than a guy in his birthday suit like him to draw attention. Anywhere decides to enter the sheriff's office to ask for directions, leaving Kaza and Earth-N's Gwenna to wait outside. Kaza then asks his wife's Earth-N counterpart why her universe is under attack but the latter doesn't have much info on it.
Suddenly, an explosion coming from the coffee shop is heard, drawing everyone's attention to it and a giant green monster which Ozma identifies it as a Growleywog emerges. Ozma warns that it's dangerous, and a group of superheroes consisting of Astral, Sparkle, Swimmer, Mineral and Flamethrower gets into action to subdue it. As if things aren't bad enough, a creature with the muscular body of a male humanoid in a loincloth and a metal head with three spikes on it whom she refers to as a Whimsie is about to attack her. Fortunately, Kaza manages to save her in the nick of time. Ozma then gives the lord of the Naked Jungle a heads up that a Whimsie's head is vulnerable. She later takes Earth-N's Gwenna's advice to evacuate Shelterville as it's getting more and more dangerous even though she is offended by the latter calling her sweetie.
In the midst of the chaos, three flying monkeys creep stealthily towards Anywhere who is their target. They then take off after abducting her and Kaza who is distracted by her scream is knocked out by the Whimsie. When he comes around, he asks Earth-N's Gwenna what happened after he became unconscious. She tells him about Anywhere's abduction by the flying monkeys whom he replies they must save her from. She then continues by saying that from what she heard from others, Shelterville might disappear soon and the news shock the lord of the Naked Jungle.
The deputy sheriff of Shelterville, Tammy Shotwell, tells both of them that the Professor and the Army Guy say the town will soon be returning back to its original location, and this worries Kaza who is eager to save Anywhere. She explains that because of this bigger crisis they don't have the manpower to save her. Ozma then suggests that they seek the aid of Glinda to rescue her while giving the duration and destination of her location.
When it is agreed, Deputy Shotwell introduces Kaza and Earth-N's Gwenna to a local mechanic named Jack who lends the both of them his car. After deciding between the both of them who gets to drive, they set off on their mission to save Anywhere. The scene is then cut to Anywhere who is shackled in a tower against the wall with the Wicked Witch of the West interrogating her until Dorothy assures the latter that she's not the enemy after confirming with Glinda. Dorothy later apologizes to the shifter after she's released who says that they can make amends to her by explaining how is Earth-N affecting Emerald City. The Witch of the West tells Anywhere that the force shifting Emerald City originates there which leaves the shifter puzzled who says it's impossible as Earth-N is on a different plane of existence from Emerald City after the former mentions that there are plenty of evidence regarding this and the conversation ends with the Witch of the West saying there's one explanation for this.
The scene is cut back to Kaza and Earth-N's Gwenna having an audience with Glinda in her throneroom who explains that the current "Wicked Witch of the West" is actually her daughter named Udagam who isn't diabolic at all. Glinda then tells them despite her alignment being completely different from her mother, Udagam can be coldhearted to those she assumes are her enemies. She continues by saying Dorothy is now free the shifter so the both of them can be reunited with her tomorrow but for now, she offers them one night in her castle which Earth-N's Gwenna thanks her gratefully in return. Just before the both of them are about to leave, Glinda asks Kaza to remain as she wants to talk to him about other matters.
In Glinda's bedroom, Kaza asks what does she wants with him and she tells the latter that she's well-aware of his polygamous behavior as she attempts to seduce him. Kaza in turn tells Glinda that while he has no objections in bedding with her, this isn't the right time yet and suddenly the both of them are interrupted by a portal appearing in the bedroom.
The criminal mastermind, Skull emerges from the portal with a sling on his right arm. Kaza who recognizes him as his arch enemy knows how dangerous he can be, so he draws his knife against his throat to ensure that the latter isn't able to do any funny business, knowing how capable he's good at harming others. Skull begs the lord of the Naked Jungle not to hurt him as he doesn't need any more injuries than he already has but the latter shuts him up with threats. Glinda who is puzzled by why Kaza is being hostile towards Skull, starts asking who he is and the latter elaborates the criminal mastermind's background who surprisingly him that he's only here to help.
The scene is then cut to how Skull ends up getting an injured arm. As it turns out, an unnamed colleague of his who's also his rival hired a few assassins to eliminate him when he's relaxing on the beach.
Skull for some unknown reasons survives the assassination with only a broken arm, manages to sneak up onto Flip Falcon in his office and threatens the latter with a gun to tell him everything he knows about demi-things. Back to the present, Anywhere and Kaza from different locations are shocked after hearing about demi-things. In the tower belonging to the Witch of the West, she explains to the shifter what are demi-things.
Glinda shows her surprise that the demi-things are the ones responsible for the incident happening but Skull assures that it's the truth and he has the evidence from an associate who got killed from showing interest in these creatures. He then tells them that their plan for world conquest involves Earth-N. After he finishes his explanation, Kaza expresses his desire to execute his arch enemy but Glinda doesn't allow any blood to be spilled in her castle and says that the first priority now is to alert her people of the threat. Kaza warns Glinda that Skull has a tendency to betray her before leaving her bedroom. After Kaza left, Glinda tells Skull off for entering her bedroom without permission as she fires a magical blast at him.
The scene cuts to Anywhere discussing with Dorothy and Udagam why the demi-things intend to target Earth-N. The Witch of the West then inquires the shifter what's unique about this universe and the latter explains that nudism is a major culture there, nothing else. The Witch of the West theorizes that the reason why Earth-N is their target is probably because if they are successful in making it's denizens feel embarrassed about going buck-naked, they will get extremely powerful from feeding on their negative emotions. The shifter upon hearing this, suspects that Earth-N's clothing company might be in cahoots with the demi-things.
Anywhere, Dorothy and Udagam then meet Ozma whom they report their findings and await her decision. As they are waiting, Glinda, Skull, Kaza and Earth-N's Gwenna appear. The last two are dressed and the shifter is overjoyed to be reunited with them but is puzzled over why Skull is with them whom Earth-N's Gwenna says that it'll be a long story which doesn't surprise her at all. Kaza then suggests that they should return to Earth-N to subdue the demi-things and that means Skull will be coming with them. The shifter is surprise to see that they manage to acquire a car from Jack which Earth-N's Gwenna explains there isn't enough manpower in Shelterville to form a search party to find her so the latter and Kaza went on their own and the only way Shelterville could help them is to give them a car that serves them well. Anywhere compliments the idea and asks whether Jack explains how to activate its special features which Earth-N's Gwenna says no. Anywhere then drives off to Earth-N with Kaza, Skull and Earth-N's Gwenna onboard.
Situation on Earth-N (part 2)
Back on Earth-N, a news reporter named Ellie Ming updates the current situation in New York about the tussle between the local superheroes and supervillains is broadcasted on TV. As the television is switched off by the remote, the owner of the hand doing so belongs to Earth-N's George Davis, the father of Earth-N's Gwenna who complains in his company meeting that this disaster is a result of what they had planned. He mentions that this also hinders the safety of his daughter and as the argument gets to heated up, the boss of the company whose face is unknown with similarities to Donald Trump breaks up the fight and assures them that the plan will go without any hiccups as well as Earth-N's Gwenna will not fall into any harm while her nudist counterpart is on her way to find Detective Blake.
She then hears an explosion and sees Blake nearby. The detective who doesn't know that this Gwenna isn't the one from her universe, tells her that she should have evacuated long ago but the lady of the Naked Jungle lies to the former that the drones sent by Johnny Die shoo her down to this location. Gwenna witnesses the epic battle between the local superheroes and supervillains after her conversion with the detective. The superheroes seem to be winning with Mother Naturist skillfully wielding her elemental powers, later teaming up with Crimson Wonder to take out Edizon and the male supervillain gets stomped on by Miss Giantess unintentionally. However, because she is distracted by what she's stepping on, her robotic foe is able to knock her out with one punch and she shrinks back to normal size. Unfortunately for her, just before the android is able to extinguish her life force, unlikely rescue comes from the flying car Anywhere, Kaza, Earth-N's Gwenna and Skull rides in with one collusion that sends the robot tumbling down.
The four of them are greeted by Crimson Wonder who has many questions for Anywhere. The conversation between both ladies leads to Anywhere mentioning Gwenna which worries her husband but the shifter assures him that she's in safe hands, being in the company of Blake which she witnessed earlier on. Gwenna and Blake encounter a supervillain as they're walking along an alleyway named Morvolo who has magical powers, both ladies prove to be no match for him.
The scene cuts back to the epic fight between the superheroes and supervillains which the latter ends up being defeated. Mother Naturist tells Crimson Wonder that they only manage to apprehend Edizon as Johnny and Mary have already escaped. Crimson tells her teammates that they need to update Anywhere as the shifter lands the flying car. Unknown to everyone, Edizon attempts to escape by zapping the policewoman who just handcuffed him. Kaza steps in to subdue the supervillain, is shown to be back to being buck-naked again but is no matched to the latter's electrical powers. Fortunately, Crimson is able to sneak up behind him and knocks him out with one punch at full force which leaves her male opponent unconscious. Johnny and Mary are later shown hiding in an alleyway. Johnny wishes to save his teammate unlike Mary who intends to quit. She argues that they're just tools to their employers so it's not worth it after he explains that Edizon plays a big part in the success of their mission.
The scene then cuts back to the superheroes who have awaiting for the special forces to take Edizon into custody and they're wearing rubber suits specifically for job. Suddenly, a flash of light emits from a part of the city which the shifter says the demi-things are coming and Earth-N's Gwenna who is shown to be naked as the others asks what's their next move. Crimson answers by saying that they need backup as she switches on her wrist communicator.
Christmas Special
The comic leaves a strictly chronological sequence to begin with Kaza and Gwenna getting dressed in the Naked Jungle before being teleported to New York for a party by Professor Madison. They reach their destination which is inside the Fortress of Evening at night and as they have seen on the laptop that it's snowing. They are then greeted warmly by Jung-La who gives the lady of the Naked Jungle a hug. She leads the nudist couple where the other guests consists of crime fighters like them. Out of curiosity, Gwenna asks Captain Evening why are Max Atom and Rockslab are having an armwrestling contest. The Captain explains that this is due to a personal affair between them and just when everyone is in the midst of their fun, the emergency alarm goes off.
Madison tells them that an Omnitron robot is attacking the city and Captain Evening says he needs the aid of every crime fighter in the room to defeat the robot which the nudist couple mention that they are useless outdoors due to the freezing cold along with being best at fighting without any garments.
Jung-La has a solution to that and tells Mysto to do his thing. The spellcasting superhero casts a cold proof spell on the nudist couple but there's a side effect, the both of them loose their clothes and that upset them. Captain Evening tells the nudist couple that there's no time to remedy because of the immediate threat.
Soon some of them tackle the giant robot while the rest deal with the smaller ones surrounding it that function as its minions. In the midst of the battle, Kaza mentions "gift exchange" as he vents out his anger on the robots and Jung-La has an idea after hearing that. She tells Mysto to hand over the Christmas present she intends to give Gwenna and the latter is puzzled but do so as the present materializes in her hands. After opening the gift, Gwenna is excited to realize that Jung-La just given her what is called a Themiscyran Throwing Necklace and the latter tells her to give it a try. Gwenna throws the necklace at one of the robots and it takes out a number of them before returning back into her hand. After she comments that she loves this necklace which will be her signatory weapon in her future appearances, the crime fighters who have been handling the omnitron, have just defeated it. In the aftermath, Max Atom and Rockslap decide to hang out at an eatery as Evening jokingly says the party is ruined but Kaza tells him that there's still the New Year while Gwenna puts on the Themiscyran Throwing Necklace which she looks good in it.
Epilogue
Jung-La wakes up in bed between Kaza and Gwenna, clearly having spent a very pleasant evening there. Kaza says that they’ve been spending too much time away from the jungle – “especially after that business on Earth-N.” This gives them an excuse to relate the adventure to Jung-La and the readers.
Gwenna explains that the instigators were the demi-things, who hoped to invade Earth-N. Luckily Flip Falcon was watching and used his Fourth Dimension Machine to disrupt their portal whom Madison who happens to overheard the conversation says that he has been bragging about I but Kaza mentions at that point Jenny Anywhere was able to use her powers to close it entirely so she's the actual hero. With the portal closed, Anywhere along with Earth-N's superheroes dealt with the demi-things while Kaza and Earth-N's Gwenna went to find the nudist Gwenna but found an unconscious Blake instead which meant that she had already been captured. The lady of the Naked Jungle then mentions to her husband that she's surprised to find her Earth-N textile counterpart naked. Kaza explains that at that time, Glinda materialized clothes for the both of them which only had a temporary effect so they disappeared after the both of them reached Earth-N. The mundane problems stemmed from a cabal of business people who had captured a demi-thing and hoped to use its powers to influence the population of Earth-N to universally adopt clothing, thereby making the textile industry very profitable. The chaos in New York was too much for Gwen’s father George Davis and he broke away from the conspiracy, turning state’s evidence. Much later after the cabal was subdued by the authorities but Earth-N's Donald Trump who was their leader became unheard of. Both father and daughter were reunited but the downside in the end was Skull and Quiet Mary teamed up before disappearing without a trace. The lady of the Naked Jungle then says that seeing how her textile counterpart interacting with her father brings back memories of her with her own. She continues by saying her marriage drove the both of them apart but when she tried to patch things up with him, she learnt that he was already dead. Jung-La then comforts Gwenna with a hug and apologizes about hearing the bad news. The lady of the Naked Jungle replies that even though she didn't have the chance to get back together with her father because he died of a heart attack, she doesn't really grieve much about it. The conversation between the ladies is then interrupted by Kaza who tells his wife that the spell Mysto cast on them is broken and the nudist couple is overjoyed to be back in their clothes especially Gwenna who kisses her husband as a reward for telling her the good news. Jung-La later asks if the both of them will be heading home and they reply that since they're dressed, they want to go sightseeing in the city. As the three of them walk down the street clothed, Jung-La tells Gwenna that the Christmas present she got for the latter is given to her by someone named Daniel. Gwenna asks if he's a superhero and Jung-La replies that he's just a villager who walks dogs for Mystical types as a living.
