Biography
Nerlana hired Mitchell to help her get to the Temple of the Serpent God and recover the Serpent Priest's snake-hypnotising tiara. Though principally interested in the gold stashed in the Temple, from which Nerlana let him subtract his own pay, he had apparently faced Kaza before, and wished to get his revenge on him. However, he was not present when Kaza, Gwenna and friends defeated Nerlana and her Serpent Cult; as such, he never got the “clear shot” at Kaza that he'd been after, while the heroes did not learn of his involvement. (COMIC: The Serpent Sorceress)
Over six months later, (COMIC: A Matter of Image) Mitchell resurfaced, now on the payroll of international terrorist the Skull. Acting on his orders, he followed Lady Catherine Maxwell from afar after she landed in Buranda, trying to figure out whether she was indeed attempting to get at the treasure to which Solomon's Diamond functioned as a key. In the night, when she sneaked out to have a midnight swim, Mitchell followed her once again, only for her to catch on to his spying and, catching him by surprise, knock him out with a tree-branch and steal his rifle. However, she was too late to prevent the Skull's other men's attack on the Koravi village, which they set aflame from the sky using a fleet of three airships. (COMIC: The Danger, the Diamond, and the Dowager) After she met up with a party of survivors led by Kiana and George Wimberley, they captured a now-awake Mitchell, but their victory was short-lived as they were ambushed by the Skull's airships, led by Professor Morag. Together, Mitchell and Morag then took the prisoners to the Kaitaran Temple. (COMIC: Nula! Naked and Alone!)
