Martian

Martian was a generic term used in many universes for the sapient species native to Mars.

In one universe, the Martians were humanoids who were outwardly identical to “Earthians”; they actually had different biology, but it was possible for hybrid children to be born. (PROSE: Magician From Mars…)

In several universes including the 97th Cosmos, the Martians were instead telepathic octopus-like beings who used Tripods and subsisted on other creatures' blood. They were sometimes known as Wellsians. (PROSE: The Grand Multiverse Hotel, COMIC: Miss Adventure, etc.)

In one universe, by the time humanity was expanding into the rest of their Solar System, they met the Martians. Shortly before the local Jenny Everywhere discovered her powers, a treaty was signed between the Martians and the Altern Corporation, which controlled the United States of America government by that point. It involved authorising Altern to collect psychic data from humans and transmit it to Martian “entities” of its choosing. (PROSE: Extradimensional Experiments)

The fictional version of Mars known as Barsoom was inhabited by multiple subspecies of humanoid Martians, including the Therns. Another universe's Jenny Everywhere hoped to one day make her way to a universe where Barsoom was real. (PROSE: Jenny Everywhere and the Eye of Argon) A different Jenny Everywhere was familiar with a real Barsoom and invited several residents of that world to the opening of Oasis Springs Nudist Resort.
