A transdimensional maelstrom was a swirling whirlpool connecting corresponding rifts in two dimensions. They were uncomfortable to travel through, and potentially lethal for ordinary, non-augmented humans.
After accidentally tearing a rift in the fabric of Earth-K and falling through, Anna Atom and Max Atom fell through a transdimensional maelstrom until they exited in Reality Z-25 31-H. (PROSE: Anna Atom vs Max Atom)
