The Childlike Empress
The Childlike Empress was the ruler of Fantasia. She needed to be given a new name in order to save Fantasia from the Nothing. Atreyu was chosen to giver her a new name but was killed before he could do so. The Empress decided her only option was to wish for an escape using the Auryn. Although this action saved her life, it also took away her memories. After jumping through a portal to another universe, she fell onto an unnamed planet and regenerated into a new form. Shortly afterwards, she met a woman named Tecteun who took her to Gallifrey. (PROSE: The Truth Behind the Lie)
According to Jenny Over-There, the Empress became known as the Timeless Child. Jenny Everywhere had heard the legend of the Timeless Child and knew that her friend the Doctor had once been them. (PROSE: A Little Knowledge)
Behind the scenes
The Childlike Empress is a major character in The Neverending Story. She was played by Tami Stronach in the first film. Stronach has said she likes the idea of her character becoming the Doctor.[1][2]
