Robotic Insect

Dog-sized Robotic Insects were used by whoever had set up a complex system for forcing teams of interdimensional travellers to fight each other in one universe to collect the teams. The robots would swarm the team and forcibly stick a yellow mark to each of its member, serving as beacons that then allowed them to be forcibly shifted into the testing areas at the pressing of a button. Should the team defend itself and manage to take down a majority of the robots, the last one standing would self-destruct and mark everyone around it in the process as a final recourse.
