Jo-Jo Congo King
Jo-Jo Congo King, or Jo-Jo, Congo King, was a comic book published by Fox Feature Syndicates between 1947 and 1949, spanning 23 issues. It legally carried on from the earlier six-issue Jo-Jo Comics, which had no commonalities of contents, focusing on funny-animals characters whereas Jo-Jo Congo King was an adventure comic featuring jungle-hero and superhero stories.
The first issue to bear the Jo-Jo Congo King title was thus numbered as #7; because it was followed by another Issue #7 before the numbering got unstuck with a proper Issue #8, this first issue is usually known in archival sources as Issue #7A. Its title story introduced Jo-Jo the Congo King as well as Gwenna; the latter, in rebooted form, would later enter the public domain and become one of the protagonists of the Jenny Everywhere-adjacent webcomic Kaza's Mate, Gwenna.
