Giant scorpion

The Jenny Everywhere of the Discworld once fought a giant scorpion to protect a group of children. She got killed by the scorpion, but, as she always did when “dying”, after coming face-to-face with Death in the Desert, she shifted more life-sand into her Life-timer, restoring herself to life. Before she returned to the mortal plane, Death reassured her that she would win this fight, and should do so quickly, because, judging by the giant scorpion's own Life-timer, Death was due to collect it ninety-two seconds later.
