Door Demon

An infinity of “Door Demons” were used in place of keys by Hilbert's Interdimensional Hotel. When guests arrived at the door of a room, its woodwork would shift into the face of a Demon who would demand that they swear they were authorised, threatening to cast them in the depths of Oblivion if they lied. The Demons' voice sounded “remarkably like the creaking of a door”. (PROSE: The Grand Multiverse Hotel)
