Prefect

Prefect was the title used by Clockwork Cherubs in the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids who were the head of a Department of the Cupid Intelligence Institute.

Two “Co-Prefects” could share the workload of running a given Department; Philatel-426 and Mailbag-431 were originally Co-Prefects of the Department of Postal Services. Philatel assumed sole responsibility after Mailbag's death, but eventually made Lord Thymon his Co-Prefect starting on Christmas 2019. (PROSE: A Copper-Colored Christmas Carol)

The Prefects, alongside a few other “Cupids of Importance” such as the head operatives of the Scarlet Wings and Blue Feather, made up the Cupid Parliament. Despite their status as Prefects, Conspiracy-1263 and Foreman-964 were exceptionally banned from Parliamentary debates due to their inability to talk about anything else than, respectively, mad conspiracy theories and building warehouses. (PROSE: Magic Trick) Indeed, though he had been Prefect of the Department of Conspiracy Theories, Conspiracy lost the title when the Department itself was disbanded. Pythagoras-858 was given the title of Prefect of a then-brand-new Department of Problem-Solving after displaying, by Cupid standards, particularly striking practical thinking around the turn of the millennium. (PROSE: Lord Thymon and the Department of Problem-Solving)
