Captain Hollister was a stereotypically heroic explorer who worked with Nula the Jungle Queen and a young Smedley as a protector of the Naked Jungle in Buranda. When the trio eventually retired from active adventuring, Hollister ended up with a knighthood and more fame and glory than the other two, to the wry amusement of Nula, who more often than not had been the one to save Hollister from peril when the going got tough.
