In one universe, an Amulet of Unheeding was a magical device which would allow one to say the name of a given supernatural entity aloud without incurring the effects such an invocation usually entailed.
Jenny Everywhere once borrowed one from her wizard neighbour Steven Lucas and his cat familiar Thoth. However, even when carrying it with her, she preferred not to say the name of “the fat man” aloud. (PROSE: Watch the Skies)
