Plot
In a lonely base on a barren planet, Cupid alchemist Mandragora-257, exulting announces to Governor-105, a tired tyrant reclining on a huge pillow, that he has succeeded in creating a masterpiece of alchemy: the Pure Elixir which can turn any base metal into gold. His enthusiasm is deflated when Governor points out that Cupids like themselves have little need of money, particularly in a remote outpost like the colony. Mandragora weakly suggests that they could use the gold as a building material.
