Child of the Stars (comic story)
Child of the Stars was a short, two-page backup comic in the Tales To Behold subseries of the webcomic The Cosmic Beholder. Written and drawn by Paul Hoppe, it elaborated on the backstory of Centennia, who had just been shown joining the Odds in Meanwhile, On Earth.

Plot
In a flashback to her childhood, a young Centennia is bullied by her peers at school for being better at all school subjects than everyone else. They pick on her more and more until one day, she fights back with inhuman strength. The young Centennia quickly becomes self-conscious, and doesn't believe her mother when she tries to tell the girl about her alien parentage — thinking that her mother is just making up a silly story to avoid her feeling like a “freak”. However, as she stays up one night staring at the stars and pondering the possibility, she suddenly finds herself flying away, realising the truth.
