Manhattan Bridge

The Manhattan Bridge was a bridge in New York City. Ocean liners returning from Europe would pass under it as they entered New York.
In the Magician from Mars's universe, the Bridge still existed in the future from which the Magician hailed, when Earth and Mars were in regular contact. By then, the stonework was yellow and the ramps were painted a bright red. A man once attempted to commit suicide by jumping off the bridge into the river, but fortunately, the Magician was passing by and halted him in mid-air before he hit the cold water. After getting him to safety, she got him to explain his troubles to her and she set about neutralising the crook who had pushed him to this extremity. (COMIC: On Earth)
