The Society of the Rhyming Dove was a secret society made up of poets who dressed up as doves, native to the Prime Universe.

They were not dimensionally-active or otherwise scientifically-advanced, but seemed to genuinely perceive their lives in verse; other metafictional beings could affect the versified narration the Rhyming Doves inhabited, causing them great distress.

The Society was friendly with another eccentric organisation, the Ennead of the Eigengrau Easter Eggs. In April 2021, they planned to invite the Eggs round for a feast. Three days before, however, on April the 1st, they received a gag “present” from the Faction of the Fooling Fish: a box containing the talking dog Astro, who disturbed the balance of their verses, although they eventually befriended him before sending for a member of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids to take Astro home.
