Lightsabers were weapons associated with Star Wars, appearing as round, mechanical hilts from which an incandescent blade could be made to protrude at the click of a button.
Jenny Everywhere's companion Thuban once attempted to go even further in abridging the Star Wars than Star Wars Shortened by condensing it into six comic panels; after wasting a lot of space discussing the idea itself he ended up having to boil it down into just the one panel, which depicted a severed hand letting go of a lightsaber, with the caption “Stuff happened”. Jenny Cornelius owned what was very obviously a lightsaber, claiming to have acquired it somewhere “far, far away”. When Mister Fell found himself of a flaming sword with which to fight a Hound of Tindalos, she offered to lend him “her own” and gave a surprised Fell the lightsaber's hilt before showing him how to make the blade appear. After he dispatched the Hound with it, Fell returned the weapon to her, inquiring as to its origins, as he was still unsure it could seriously be called a “flaming sword”. (PROSE: Dog Days of Sumer)
