In one dimension, the firey, demonic Lord Grallyx was once “a Salamander Lord of the Elemental Court” during “the Time of Legends”, an era which could be roughly described as “the dawn of time”, when many other powerful beings apparently roamed the universe. The Disciples of Golden Light eventually put an end to the Time of Legends, sealing away the most powerful entities and clearing the deck for humanity to have their day. Behind the scenes

The notion of a cosmic “Time of Legends” in the early universe is a popular concept in science-fantasy. It notably appears in the 1981 Terry Gilliam film Time Bandits (as the Time of Legends), as well as in series set in the Third Universe, such as Doctor Who and Faction Paradox, where the era is variously known as the Dark Times, the Dark Time, the Time of Chaos, the Old Time, the Time Before Time or the Time Before This. In the latter cosmology, the Time Lords brought an end to the Dark Times. This would place the Disciples of Golden Light as their universe's equivalent of the Time Lords.
