Kooba Fruit Pie: Difference between revisions

The Kooba Fruit Pies are an open-source stand-in for the [https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Advertising/HostessFruitPies Hostess Fruit Pies], a brand which was the subject of many narrative ads in popular comic-books in the 1970s and 1980s (a similar joke was made in ''[[Jenny Everywhere and the Lord of Hell (short story)|Jenny Everywhere and the Lord of Hell]]'' where they were known as [[Stewardess® Fruit Pie]]). The name of “Kooba”, however, is taken from the public-domain “Kooba Cola”, an imaginary soft drink advertised in Fox Features Syndicate comic books as a test-run campaign; the [[Kooba Cola Corporation]] would go on to be referenced in other [[Jenny Everywhere]]-related works. As the “Kooba” brand is public-domain, Kooba Fruit Pies can reasonably be considered public domain.
