In his author's note for Dog Days of Sumer, Scott Sanford admitted that he was not sure that “the M&S on Oxford Street was there in Jenny Cornelius’s era”, though “the M&S Marble Arch branch definitely was in business at the time, but a kilometer west of the store [he] had in mind”.
