Jesus Christ was a major figure in the Christian faith, conflated by the Christians with an aspect of God Himself and therefore sometimes referred to as the Lord. One Christian hymn, referring to the Christian church, claimed:
The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord; She is His new creation, by water and the world. From Heaven He came and sought her to be His holy bride; Wtih his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died. |
—[[The Church's One Foundation by S. J. Stone (1866)]] |
The Man With No Name once used the phrase “And it's once for the Devil and once for Christ”. (COMIC: The Legend of Jenny Everywhere)
His name could also be used as an expletive. Jenny Everywhere once loudly exclaimed “Jesus Christ!” after accidentally shifting back to the Northern hemisphere from Australia without adjusting for direction, materialising upside down on top of the Man With No Name's garden table. (COMIC: Jenny Everywhere Rules 2)
Another Jenny once performed an unlikely disco era song and dance number, known to a 1970s Jenny, in which Jesus introduced himself to the music of The Beegee's Stayin' Alive. (PROSE: Morning After)
Behind the scenes
“And it's once for the Devil and once for Christ”, a phrase quoted by the Man With No Name in COMIC: The Legend of Jenny Everywhere, is a lyric from the song Closing Time by Leonard Cohen.
