Princess Katerina Corwin was Jenny Everywhere's mother (or occasionally father) in a number of continua, raising her on the Island of Barbelo on behalf of her lover, Captain Amelia Midnight.

Biography

Default story

Despite variations (such as her name, “Katerina Corwin” only being the most common), her story in universes where she was Jenny Everywhere's mother tended to always be largely the same. Having been rescued from great peril by transtemporal adventuress Amelia Midnight and become her lover, she would take residence at the Island of Barbelo, a hidden pocket dimension where Midnight relocated those she wished to keep safe from her many enemies.

After giving birth to, or adopting, a baby Jenny, Amelia would drop her off at Barbelo for Katerina to raise her; as a result, Jenny tended to take “Corwin” as her last name, prior to beginning to operate under the “Jenny Everywhere” alias. After growing up hearing about Amelia's adventures, a young Jenny would be inspired to leave Barbelo; this was usually done by the arrival of another girl her age, usually Laura Drake or Penny Anywhere. In other cases, however, Barbelo was destroyed, leaving an orphaned Jenny the only survivor. (PROSE: The Hermetic Garbage of Jenny Everywhere)

In the Collapsed Cosmos

In the Collapsed Cosmos, an unstable universes which resulted from all the universes of the Multiverse collapsing into one, the “conglomerated” Amelia Midnight was the woman the “collapsed” Jenny primarily thought of as “her mother”. She dwelled at the End of Time, having retired from adventuring to become an Archon of the Redoubt, passing on her scarf and goggles to Jenny and the Zephyrus to a new captain, and achieving “a kind of respectability”. By this point, the Princess Katerina “lay in a glass coffin, still awaiting a cure for the curse her own mother had cast on her”. (PROSE: The Hermetic Garbage of Jenny Everywhere)
