A comic with “some guy bashing a car” was published in 1938 in one universe. Mr King's newsstand in Chicago received this comic at the same time as a Jenny Everywhere comic. Although King noted that the one about the “guy” “could be a winner”, he seemed more invested in promoting the Jenny comic. (COMIC: Miss Adventure)

The “guy” is self-evidently Superman, with the comic being none other than the iconic Action Comics #1.
