Doctor Curious's Monster” was a creation of Doctor Curious, a mad scientist who lived in the Jynx Dimension, being a revived Mark I Clockwork Cherub. Despite having a different brain, the Monster seemed, to some extent, to consider himself continuous with the previously-dead Cupid from whose remains he had been created, and to possess some of his memories.

Determined to have a Copper-Colored Cupid for a friend, but having found, after kidnapping Pessimist-242, that he made for poor company, Curious decided to create his own by sourcing the body of a dead Mark I Clockwork Cherub through contacts at the Interdimensional Tavern and reprogramming it before bringing it back to life, Frankenstein-style. After 53 failed attempts, Curious hit upon a method which worked, placing a mysterious, glowing purple jelly, quickened by lightning, in the Cupid's skull instead of a positronic brain. After activating, the Monster acted perfectly pleasant and suggested a feast. However, his good nature won out over his loyalty to his creator when Doctor Curious threatened to kill Tom-176 and John-181 in order to source spare parts with which to make a second Monster from their remains. First destroying Curious's command computer, and later stealing the Story Rewriter 3000 from him, the Monster helped the Cupids escape, and made his way to the Cupid Homeworld with them aboard Pessimist's Fog Ship as they fled.
