In the Prime Universe, the Company of Free Genies was, as their name implied, a group of free Genies who collectively ran a business in the Home City.

Nature

As their tagline of “The Genies Are Free, The Wishes Aren't” advertised, they granted wishes for a price. They kept up a flimsy pretense that they were a mundane human business with genie theming, but their true nature was an open secret, and they often catered to clients who were supernatural themselves, preferring, in such cases, to be paid in the form of magical artefacts rather than mere money. History

notably having contacts with the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids; Pythagoras-858, as a Problem-Solver, saw them as kindred spirits of a sort. Pythe later mentioned them to Jenny Everywhere during the Rifts Crisis.

Some time later, Jenny visited their shop to get the location of the Lurigadawne of Tipperary, paying with a magic wand. In the lobby, she met local ghost the Mad Marquess, who had his own request to present to the Genies. After the Genie manning the front desk sent her to the Gnome Place after the Lurigadawne, the Mad Marquess started berating the Genie, who, annoyed, willfully interpreted one of the Marquess's comments to send him off to the Gnome Place too instead of granting whatever wish the Marquess had actually planned to purchase with the magical mask he'd sacrificed to the Genies.
