The designation of “Elder Gods”, or “elder gods”, was used in various realities to refer to powerful, often eldritch beings.

The term was sometimes a broad descriptor equivalent to “eldritch god”. Pixie Pristine understood Lord Thymon to be “an elder god, (…) a ‘beyond mortal and immortal ken alike, unknowable guardian of the Outer Void’ kind of elder god”. (PROSE: Family Business) However, it could also be used more pointedly; indeed, Thymon and the other Embodiments themselves were known to sing hymns to a specific group they called “the Elder Gods”. (PROSE: A Copper-Colored Christmas Carol)

The skull of “an Elder God” was one of the items kept in the Jenny Everywhere Museum in the Strange and Wonderful House. (PROSE: Our Strange and Wonderful House: The Jenny Everywhere Museum)

In the 925th Universe, Jenny Over-There once criticised Marietta Over-There for not having recollected, from their shared childhood study of the Necronomicon, that Nyarlathotep's boasts of being counted among the Elder Gods were inaccurate. (PROSE: A Very Jenny Over-There Christmas (2024 reedit))
