Flaming Swords, or flaming swords, (PROSE: Dog Days of Sumer) were supernatural weapons sometimes wielded by angels.
The Mad Gardener who guarded the Conservatory of the Strange and Wonderful House — by all appearances a version of the Garden of Eden — wielded a flaming sword, although, under his glamour as a wizened old man, it appeared as a machete. (PROSE: Our Strange and Wonderful House: Back to the Garden)
In Jenny Cornelius's universe “Mr Fell” once had a flaming sword with which he was supposed to defend the Eastern Gate of Eden, but gave it away. He rather regretted it in the 20th century when faced with a surviving Hound of Tindalos, whose kind had best been fought with great amounts of fire by angelkind in the early days; Jenny Cornelius lent him what she described as her “own” flaming sword, actually a lightsaber, which worked well enough for their purpose but rather confused the angel, who quibbled with the characterisation of it as a flaming sword as he understood the term even if it literally fit the description.
