Dark Lord

“Dark Lord” was a title held by many individuals across the Multiverse, often tyrannical rulers who derived their powers from dark magic in a more or less direct way.

There was a long line of Dark Lords on the planet Shenanig in the Jynx Dimension. Its last heir, Sebastian Steer, broke with tradition by declaring himself Emperor rather than merely the new Dark Lord, and by not having been formally recognised by his predecessor Lord Nefarious as the former's apprentice before he'd murdered him and taken his throne. Indeed, Steer hated Nefarious's memory, and kept a bust of him in his Imperial Castle's throne room for the purpose of throwing tomatoes at it. (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker)
