The British Museum was an institution which existed in London in Jenny Cornelius's universe. Among other things, it had a store of Sumerian artefacts; on one occasion, a curator unaware of one of these items' significance handled it carelessly and caused it to unleash the Hound of Tindalos which had been trapped within it for millennia. Mr Fell, upon meeting the Hound, bemoaned the falling standards of the Museum's staff. (PROSE: Dog Days of Sumer)
