Buranda is in Africa, on the Atlantic coast

Buranda is an African country in at least one universe. It was once part of the British equatorial territories in Africa, on the Atlantic coast (COMIC: Kaza's Mate, Gwenna); such government as appears employs Commissioner Smedley Hopkirk and his assistant George Wimberly. The country is home to the Natari tribe and others. This region contains the Naked Jungle, home of adventurers such as Kaza, Gwenna, and Nula.

Details of its geography are still being revealed as they become relevant to stories, although it is obviously rich in dense jungles, striking mountains, and improbable adventuring locations.

Conventionally, the Kogana river is navigable for a good distance inland, and the country shares a border with Zamunda. (COMIC: Up the River) The Natari village is located closer to the Temple of the Serpent God than the kraal near Buranda Pass. (COMIC: The Serpent Sorceress)

Commissioner Smedley is used to these antics.

More exotically, it has a striking abandoned temple to a snake god. (COMIC: The Serpent Sorceress)

Somewhere in the area is the Obelisk of Rangora, a mystic artifact possessing plot relevant powers of transportation. (COMIC: Wonderella Drops by the Jungle, etc)

There is an entrance to the Earth's core which is generally known to the adventuring populace. (COMIC: Crisis Down the Yellow Brick Road)
