Buranda is an African country in at least one universe. It was once part of British equatorial territories in Africa, somewhere on the Atlantic coast (COMIC: Kaza's Mate, Gwenna); such government as appears employs Commissioner Smedley and his assistant Wimberley. The country is home to the Natari tribe and others. This region contains the Naked Jungle, home of adventurers such as Kaza, Gwenna, and Nula.
Its geography is still being revealed, although it is obviously rich in dense jungles, striking mountains, and improbable adventuring locations. [Source Needed]
Somewhere in the area is the Obelisk of Rangora, a mystic artifact possessing plot relevant powers. (COMIC: Wonderella Drops by the Jungle, etc)
It has a striking abandoned temple to a snake god. (COMIC: The Serpent Sorceress)
There is an entrance to the Earth's core which is generally known to the adventuring populace. (COMIC: Crisis Down the Yellow Brick Road)
Less dramatically, the country shares a border with Zamunda. (COMIC: Up the River)
