History

The Society of the Rhyming Dove was one of the many Strangely-Colored Secret Societies formed as a result of the First Horde laying off large numbers of its personnel and imperfectly wiping their minds of their time as Horde operatives, giving them a subconscious itch to form new, similar societies. (PROSE: The Strangely-Colored Secret Societies)

The Society was friendly with another eccentric organisation, the Ennead of the Eigengrau Easter Eggs. In April 2021, they planned to invite the Eggs round for a feast. Three days before, however, on April the 1st, they received a gag “present” from the Faction of the Fooling Fish: a box containing the talking dog Astro, who disturbed the balance of their verses, although they eventually befriended him before sending for a member of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids to take Astro home. (PROSE: Multiversal Mischief)
