Geometrons were sentient two-dimensional shapes and the primary native inhabitants of the Euclidean Plane. They had difficulty conceptualising or perceiving three-dimensional beings, which they viewed as “eldritch” and untrustworthy.
Nature
They existed in several subspecies, including Spheroids, Tangulars, Triangries, Octasers, Stelloids, (PROSE: Multiversal Mischief) and Pulsatons. (PROSE: Rifts Crisis Officially Over!) There were unsubstantiated rumours of a further subspecies, the crescent-like Lunaeoids. (PROSE: The Cupid Suggestion Box) Some subspecies had particular abilities, such as Stelloids being very fast, (PROSE: Multiversal Mischief) Triangries breathing fire, and Octasers firing lasers from their eyes. (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker) The different subspecies were capable of interbreeding, with descendants sometimes retaining some of their ancestors' special abilities. (PROSE: The Euclidean Plane)
History
Historically, the Geometron subtypes were prone to mutual prejudice, usually based on their respective number of sides: Tangulars and Octasers often bickered about whether shorter sides or fewer sides was the most reproachable quality, and Spheroids, due to effectively only having one side, were looked down upon by the rest of the population. (PROSE: The Euclidean Plane)
Over the span of Orbicularia Bubble's life, the Geometrons ceased to live in the wild and created a Citadel ruled by a Pentagon. However, trust in this government eroded after the Pentagon made an ill-fated alliance with a group of “horrible three-dimensional reptiles”. (PROSE: Multiversal Mischief) There existed a Spheroid incarnation of Jenny Everywhere, who still lived in the woods at that point. (PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker)
In December 2019, Larrikin-1029 travelled to the Euclidean Plane to bring them his very own brand of Christmas cheer, and ended up piling up three Spheroids to create a “snow”man, as well as wrapping up a Tangular like a present and placing a Stelloid atop a tree. (COMIC: Geometrons' Holiday)
