Shiva was a Hindu deity who resided in a “personal Heaven” connected to a more earthly dimension. Although occasionally manipulative, and dismissive of mortals, Shiva was ultimately a benevolent deity who, after overseeing the destruction of a universe, would act as a Shepherd of Souls for its former inhabitants.
Biography
When they accidentally encroached on his domain due to a shifting mishap, Shiva met Jenny Everywhere and her boyfriend David. Finding Jenny's reactions to her mishaps entertaining, he placed the two of them in a bird-cage and tried to convince Jenny that her powers were a mere delusion and that she was a dying child escaping into fractured dreams.
However, in actuality, he intended to free the two after they'd performed a job for him: he cast them out into a dying, damned universe, in the hope that they would inspire its forsaken people to escape under their own power before it was too late (whereas he, being a god, would have overwhelmed the fragile, decaying universe to the point of “destroying the very people [he] was trying to save”). After they succeeded, he gave them back the Plasmanomicon and sent them on their way. (COMIC: Soulless Mate)
