One universe's version of Death of the Endless began to travel after Jenny Everywhere 1 after her reality itself came to an end.

Description

Physical appearance

When she met Jenny, Death appeared as a girl with “a shock of black hair” and marble-white skin. She wore “striking” make-up, a black sleeveless T-shirt and matching jeans. (PROSE: Psychopomp) For her visit to the Flying Dutchman, she instead wore “a gentlewoman's dress in funeral black”, though she retained her characteristic necklace adorned with a silver ankh. (PROSE: Storm's End)

Biography

Death was as old as the universe. (PROSE: Psychopomp)

She appeared on the deck of the Flying Dutchman to collect its crew, but left without them as they ignored her in favour of the supernaturally-charged oath Captain Van der Decken had made to stay at sea until the end of the world if he couldn't “round the Cape” first. (PROSE: Psychopomp)

At some point, she reaped the local Jenny, as she would later recall.

After untold aeons, as the universe began to die, she reaped the last stars and her six siblings, ending with Destiny. Although she had previously thought that she might cease to exist alongside Destiny, she instead found that she remained as the last “living” thing in the now completely empty cosmos. She existed in this silent darkness for a literal eternity (as linear time had died with Destiny) until Jenny Everywhere shifted into this world by chance. Jenny convinced her to come along and find a new purpose now that her old job was done, with Death realising with some amusement that Jenny was now acting as a psychopomp to her. (PROSE: Psychopomp)

The two began to travel together. Emboldened by her newly multiversal sense of reality, Death finally figured out a way to go back and free the cursed crew of the Flying Dutchman; with Jenny's help, the two shifted back in time to long before the end of Death's universe, and, appearing on the deck, explained to Van der Decken that as his oath hadn't specificed which world would have to end, they could free him and his crew by helping him to sail their ship into another universe which was close to ending, at which point they would finally be ready to return to shore. Van der Decken didn't remember his prior encounter with Death, but reluctantly agreed to let Jenny take the wheel. (PROSE: Storm's End)
