Physical appearances

Mr Haffalife was a man with a large nose, a mustache and voluminous curly hair. He wore a shirt with vertical stripes and a large, eccentric bowtie. Personality

Mr Haffalife was a troubled, neurotic personality, who was obsessed with promoting the most momentary, instantaneous, meaningless entertainment possible — a limiting childhood vision of a “library of instant fun” which he chased off a cliff with no regard for other people's input. He was generally dismissive of his employees' feelings, insisting that he had had it worse than them in his own circus career and thus they had no cause to complain. Biography

Youth

Mr Haffalife acquired Giant Panda as a young boy. He had a vision of a “library of fun,” with fun and game instead of books, no waiting for anything and no requirement to focus on anything seriously. After a career as a circus clown, Haffalife fulfilled that vision in the form of a fun fair on the pier of a coastal city. He hired many circus performers, such as a young woman called Ani, but only had them work stalls, always delaying the day he would let them actually perform. (COMIC: The Freak Issue)

Meeting Jenny Everywhere

After learning of the plight of his employees through a “circus freak” known as Dromedary Man, Jenny Everywhere learned how unstable Haffalife had become as a result of Gordon and Trav stealing Giant Panda. She helped the circus performers put on a show behind Haffalife's back, which was a huge success. Haffalife, walking in on the performance, was initially apoplectic, but lost his nerve when Jenny returned the stolen Giant Panda to him as a gesture of peace, and, breaking down crying, apologised for his misdeeds. (COMIC: The Freak Issue)
