In Reality Z-25 31-H, Insecto was a supervillain and the leader of a hive's worth of Insect People who once tried to take over a city in England.
Description
Physical appearance
As an Insect Person, Insecto had a humanoid stature and body, but also a pair of housefly wings on his back, a clearly bug-like head with faceted eyes, antennae, and mandibles, as well as three claws on each hand and foot (one opposable thumb and two other fingers of equal length on the other side of the ‘talon’). He was taller than his servants, and unlike them, he had only two arms, and his anatomy was even more human-like than theirs in other ways, with clearly-defined muscles on his torso instead of the even shell of his minions. He wore a belt around his waist, whose function was unclear. (COMIC: Battle of Britain)
Personality
Although self-centred and power-hungry, Insecto had a calm, businesslike demeanour and was willing to change his plans on a dime if he was convinced there was a better way to achieve his aims than he had previously considered. He appeared to have no personal dislike of humans, but believed human civilisation as a whole to be nothing but “mad destruction”, and saw himself as the Insect Person who'd bring it all down and replace it with a superior, Insect-led society. Biography
Beaten by the Odds
After Insecto decided to bring down human civilisation, he and his colony of Insect People made their way to a small English city near London. Over the course of three weeks, they created a huge anthill, dwarfing all the buildings, with a single entrance at the top. Insecto then sent his people out into the streets, participating in human activities without violence, but being as rude and irritating as possible in the process, doing things like double-parking or talking loudly in the cinema. Insecto hoped that the humans would eventually get tired of it, and, with no legal recourse, would have no choice but to abandon the city to the Insects entirely.
However, Chief Inspector Dennis of Scotland Yard called in the Odds, who fought their way into the hill and confronted Insecto. After he explained his plans to them, “Jenny Everywhere” told him that he should instead consider the democratic method, playing to his ego to convince him to simply stand for mayor. He vowed to cease being unpleasant and accepted. However, he had failed to take into consideration the fact that his Insect People didn't have the right to vote, and he loss the election by a landslide to a Sir Charles Litton, earning only 2.1% of votes.
