The 925th Universe's version of Pastoria, Monarch Pastoria, ruled Oz over a century before the 2020s. Pastoria was the one who originally dreamt up the golden roads, and had not yet put the project into practice when Doctor Know-It-All, then lecturing at the Royal College of Oz, first got the idea to create Professor Wogglebug. Behind the scenes
In the original Oz books, King Pastoria was Ozma's father, and the King of Oz whose disappearance left a power vacuum for the Wizard of Oz himself to fill. He was a male character. The Jenny Over-There: The Nine-Two-Five Universe is referred to as Monarch Pastoria and never referred to with male pronouns during their brief mention in Annals of the Jen, suggesting they may have been non-binary.
