Plot
Lord Thymon is distraught when his appearance in a Prime Earth haberdashery causes a panic even though he was only there to buy a new hat.

Continuity
- Though he was seen to wear a hat from his first appearance in PROSE: Lord Thymon and the Department of Problem-Solving onwards, this was the first story to suggest Lord Thymon had a particular interest in them. This would be reaffirmed in PROSE: The Time of the Toymaker.
