The Triangular Bisector was a device created by the 775th Universe's Laura Drake as the endpoint of five years of research.
The Bisector was intended to open a small portal to the heart of an alien sun in another dimension and safely funnel powers from it. It wasn't designed to allow physical beings to travel between the dimensions. However, when Laura organised an official demo at the Museum, Lord Grallyx, a demonic being who had been imprisoned in the heart of the star Laura had selected, pushed his way through, damaging the Bisector in the process. When Laura's girlfriend Jenny tried to use the Bisector again to summon the Disciples of Golden Light so they could trap Grallyx again, it backfired and she received a blast of shifter energy which briefly knocked her out.
