Gameplay
The player controls a Clockwork Cherub sprite who can shoot a finite supply of Cupid Arrows at the stream of Geometrons by pressing the ‘A’ button on their keyboard. The player can move the sprite using the arrow keys. The flames of the Triangries and Octasers, if they hit the Cupid, make him lose life points, while the Heart Geometron restores his health completely. Successfully romanticising a Geometron usually gives one point; the Star Geometron gives four due to the difficulty of catching it. Scoring 16 points or more results in winning the game.
Plot
The player character, presumably another Clockwork Cherub, is talked by a more experienced member of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids through the process of romanticising a large number of Geometrons, who stream into arrow-shooting range in bunches by species, from least to most dangerous.
Worldbuilding
Universes
- The game takes place in the Euclidean Plane.
Continuity
- The game expands the roster of living geometrical shapes seen in VIDEO: The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids as targets of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids' efforts.
- The various species of Geometrons and their abilities were later listed in the Cupid Fact File, PROSE: The Euclidean Plane, released just a couple of days after Cupid Chaos!. The Fact File included one direct quote from the dialogue of Cupid Chaos!: “Look out! Look out! Danger is on the rise!/Octagon creatures shoot beams from their eyes!”
