Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons is a British science-fiction series originally launched as puppet animation in 1967, and also extending in other media, such as comics.

The series was part of the Gerry Anderson family of the shows, many of which shared a loose shared universe with each other and Doctor Who. It focused on the efforts of “Spectrum”, an elite force whose operatives were code-named with colours, to counter the attacks of the Mysterons, a race of aliens from Mars.

In PROSE: A Morning In, the series joined the long list of elements of British pop culture existing within the mashed-up world of Jenny Cornelius, with aliens referred to as the Misterions threatening Earth over the phone.
