In one universe, the Anorak Boys were a “pretentious mumblecore band”. Jenny Everywhere, being a musical critic in this universe, was set to write a 400-word review of them on the day Genevieve dropped in on her and Kim. Jenny thought they weren't bad at music, but were overly prone to hyping themselves up beyond their true capabilities. (PROSE: Pit Stop)

A magazine of the same name was briefly seen in Name's Not Down, being read by Jenny herself. Scott Sanford confirmed this was an intentional reference. A few months earlier Nelson Evergreen had used the same magazine title in Late Night Queueing.
