Ungulla
In one universe, Ungulla was a minor tribal chief in Cong. His tribe lived close to the Bonangi, whose Queen Gwenna was considered a personal enemy by Ungulla. However, he was reluctant to attack the Bonangi due to her alliance with Jo-Jo the Congo King, until a white outlaw who wanted the gold held by the Bonangi made an alliance with him, using steel plates to armour Ungulla's elephant so as to use it as a living battering ram in an attack on the Bonangi village.
The raid was initially successful, but on the way back to Ungulla's village, they were ambushed by Jo-Jo the Congo King, who felled several trees in the Beast's way, cutting off its route. Jo-Jo then swung onto the back of the Beast on a vine and used a flaming torch to smoke the outlaw out of the tank-like compartment he'd built on the Beast's back. While the outlaw was thrown to the ground and soon crushed by the panicking Beast, Ungulla was taken prisoner; Jo-Jo and Gwenna decided that, while he would be punished for his crimes, the rest of his tribe would not be held responsible for their leader's craven behaviour.
