Plot

Chapter 1

Jenny Everywhere is “frolicking through a field of alien flowers” when she bumps into Jenny Nowhere, whom she last saw headed for Hell. To Nowhere's disappointment, Everywhere immediately warns her that they must fight yet again, though not before asking Nowhere, not for the first time, why she behaves in such generally evil ways anyway, to which Nowhere is unable to give a satisfying adventures other than “It's just what I do”. They get to fighting, but after getting caught off-guard by Everywhere's first punch, Nowhere starts to spiral increasingly out of control as she loudly insists that she isn't getting weaker, only to keep taking hit after hit without putting up any effective defence.

Chapter 2

A little while later, as Jenny Everywhere has rejoined her friends — including versions of Jimmy Wherever, Michael Wherever and KimNowhere walks up to her again, demanding a rematch and insisting she won't lose so easily this time. However, in the face of Everywhere and her friends' casual skepticism about her ability to ever win against the other Everywhere, Nowhere goes to pieces again, collapsing to the ground (and losing her skirt) from a single kick. While a victorious Everywhere kisses Wherever and the friend group shift to another universe to celebrate, Nowhere gathers her wits. As she dwells on the image of Jenny kissing Jimmy, she recalls that Jenny also has an ex, Laura, and wonders if she could team up with her to get her revenge. Indeed, Laura Drake, who witnessed the fight from a distance, had the same idea, walking up to her and offering her an alliance.

Chapter 3

Nowhere and Laura travel to Laura's laboratory, with Nowhere admiring what Laura has done with the place. Laura explains that she can help Nowhere get her revenge if Nowhere can lure Jenny to the lab for her. Nowhere, whose self-confidence has yet to replenish, is hesitant, but Laura browbeats her into accepting the assignment.

Chapter 4

Everywhere submits surprisingly easily to Nowhere, who brings her to Laura's lab. There, a disagreement soon breaks out between the two villains when Nowhere makes it clear that she'll want Jenny all to herself; Laura pulls out a steampunk gun she recently invented, but Jenny Everywhere kicks the gun, breaking it, before Laura can actually use it, revealing in the process that she was never incapacitated and was just playing along to figure out what Nowhere was up to. They have yet another fight, with Jenny easily incapacitating both Laura and Nowhere. When Nowhere breaks down crying, however, Everywhere helps her up, hugs her and comfort her; they even briefly kiss before Everywhere pulls away and skips off, daring Nowhere to chase her.

Chapter 5

Nowhere soon catches up to Jenny Everywhere and, in victorious glee, demands that the other shifter agree to love her and only her. Jenny calls her out on starting to sound evil and domineering again. Laura Drake catches up with them and agrees, pointing her repaired steampunk gun at Nowhere. Imitating Everywhere's earlier trick, Nowhere pretends to submit to Laura only to suddenly start struggling again, destroying the gun a second time. As she shouts at Laura in anger, however, Laura notices that Nowhere's eyes have changed, becoming spirals. Nowhere's bravado gives out and she starts to panic, asking Everywhere feverish obsession if Everywhere will love her if Nowhere agrees to give up her evil ways. Though she doesn't mean to harm Everywhere, her shaking Everywhere by the shoulder causes the other girl to hit her head against a rock and she falls unconscious. Unsure of what to do, Nowhere begins dragging the unconscious Everywhere to her home.

Chapter 6

When Jenny Everywhere comes to, she is tied to a chair in Nowhere's dining room, with toast and a cup of tea set out on the table. Nowhere announces that she's set up a date for the two of them. Everywhere explains once that she could only love Nowhere if Nowhere renounced her evil ways, and demands that Nowhere prove it by letting her go. Nowhere complies, untying Jenny, who immediately shifts away, telling Nowhere that she still doesn't trust her.

After flipping the table, Nowhere follows Everywhere to the other universe, where, finding themselves in the Naked Jungle, their powers adapt them both to their surroundings by making their clothes vanish, leaving them in their respective patterned underwear. After Everywhere trips and hits her head again, Nowhere helps her up, but then demand that they return to Nowhere's house to finish their “date”, once again dashing any illusion Everywhere might have developed that Nowhere is undergoing personal growth.

Nowhere shifts Everywhere back to her house and lays her out on the bed. With them both still in their underwear, she begins to make out with Everywhere, but the other shifter shoves her off and tells her in no uncertain terms that her behaviour is only proving further that her “love” in no way makes her a better person. She grabs one of Nowhere's skirt and puts it on before shifting away. Nowhere tries to follow her, though she realises that she forgot to get dressed again and wastes time going back to her house again to grab another skirt.

As they chase each other shifting too fast and too clumsily, they “clip through reality” and find themselves in the Backrooms, a “pocket reality between universes” where they are immediately menaced by a shadow-monster. They attempt to shift away together but only end up on another level of the Backrooms, themed like a hospital corridor and teeming with yet more monsters. However, after another shift that takes the two of them to a paradoxical space that is simultaneously indoors and outdoors, Everywhere manages to shift herself and Nowhere to the safety of an ordinary crowded street in an actual universe. There, they seemingly agree to call it a day and part ways peacefully.

Chapter 7

Some time later, Jenny Everywhere is being stalked by Nowhere. She takes refuge in the Strange and Wonderful House where she is pursued by Nowhere whose eyes have once more turned into spirals. Everywhere tries to hide in a dark room, but when Nowhere finds her, hits her over the head with a lamp before running out of the House.

Chapter 8

Still being chased by Nowhere, Jenny runs into the Infinite, with Nowhere hot her heels. She explains to her other selves that Nowhere has been chasing her for days and she is desperate to get some rest. A magician Jenny suggests a classic switcheroo, proposing that a number of Jennies from the Infinite take turns being chased by the focus Jenny's Nowhere. She volunteers to go first.

While the chased Jenny collapses to the floor of the Infinite right there and then, falling asleep almost instantly, another Jenny who's been holding off Nowhere allows her to fully enter the Infinite. The magician Jenny plays around with Nowhere for a while, playing magical tricks on her, before “handing her over” to Bunny Jenny, and on and on. Nowhere, surrounded by Everywheres running literal rings around her, seems to finally lose her mind completely to the “Nowhere Spiral”, her rational mind entirely consumed by her self-contradictory obsession with Jenny Everywhere.
