In Reality Z-25 31-H, Kate Five was reluctantly bonded with a shapeshifting, ichor-like symbiote creature. It sometimes acted as a second skin or living outfit for her, granting superhuman abilities, but it had a malicious mind of its own and was capable of fully taking her over. Specific vibrations, such as the ringing of the Fortress of Evening's bell, could temporarily dissociate the symbiote from the human, with the symbiote being able to survive and move on its own long enough to, on one occasion, lay in ambush for Kate and possess her all over again.
