The Story Rewriter 3000 was a device invented by the Collective of the Retconning Crocodiles. It appeared as a pocket-sized “mix between a telephone and a keyboard”.
It was carried by a Crocodile whom Doctor Curious encountered at the Interdimensional Black Market. Curious was able to steal the device without the Crocodile's notice and brought it back to the Jynx Dimension. He later used it to reverse a few seconds of time after his own Monster turned on him and destroyed the command computer of the circuitry-corroding virus he was using to kill Tom-176 and John-181. However, he squandered this advantage by trying to protect the computer on the second go-around instead of the Story Rewriter 3000 itself, which the Monster filched from him and tossed to Tom-176 before the Doctor could react. Tom typed in more detailed instructions, rewriting the current reality such that he and John were both untied from the chairs to which Curious had tied them; the computer was destroyed once again; Pessimist-242 was with them instead of left unconscious in the laboratory; both John-181's Fog Ship and Pessimist's Fog Ship were intact and in front of them; and Curious had been teleported to the furthest end of the Castle. Getting into the Fog Ships before Curious could run back to the ballroom, they successfully made their escape, with the Monster riding along with Pessimist in his Fog Ship instead of sticking around.
